With the theme of doorways, my senior capstone project was a fictional product, a small portal to other dimensions. Used several different AI models to create a fictional company in a fantasy setting with Philip K. Dick’s “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” as my inspiration. By developing an app with python I developed an interactive experience where users could activate different AI-generated videos at the press of a button.

My visual inspiration came from 19th century trade shows like the Worlds Fair, and science fiction literature. I wanted to create an experience that celebrates the old and the new, hand crafted objects and artificially intelligent assistance.

When the spacebar is pressed, a video is chosen at random from a group and played on the screen, to transition back to the looping eye video.

The application used to play the videos was written with a python script generated by ChatGPT and edits made to suit the idividual needs of the project.

I had my plan for my doorway, but I needed to build a brand around it, and I love fictional writing so I decided to develop a fictional world around my doorway to other dimensions using ChatGPT to help develop the story.

The Lazerbeam Corporation is my fictional company, meant to distribute doorways that allow inter-dimensional travel, the name based around an old instagram handle.
